Meet Jay Cook - Host of "The Great Outdoors"
Born in Herrick, Illinois, Jay started hunting rabbits, squirrels, quali and pheasants with his brother Jeff and bird dog Susie about the time most kids learn to ride a bike. Since then he's hunted elk in colorado & Washington, Antelope and Mule Deer in Montana, Pheasents in South Dakota, Whitetails in Missouri, Texas and Illinois along with plains game in South Africa. He's also back packed the Grand Canyon, canoed in Northern Canada and gone deep sea fishing in both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.
Jay's married to Leeann and has two children, Caley and Eli. The family has been on many outdoor adventures including camping in the Black Hills of South Dakota, rafting in the Smokey Mountains of Tennesse and horseback riding in Texas. Jay hunts every chance he can though now his focus is making sure the kids learn to appreciate and understand nature.
To take care of the family and pay for all these outdoor adventures, Jay works the "day job" as a commercial loan officer at Marine Bank. He's been the owner of several businesses and is a Certified Financial Planner.
